COPENHAGEN'S NEW LIBRARY

copenhagen library

Libraries! We know this isn’t for everyone – but the more we travel the more we find ourselves hunting down the best book shops, magazine stores and libraries. It’s become a habit. Each city offers a new place to lose hours and hours of time amidst a sea of interesting publications. That’s why we’re excited about Copenhagen’s newest library designed by COBE. Entitled The Library, it was built to resemble stacked books with each floor catering to a different reader – one floor for children, another for adults and more. Plus its hyper-futuristic stylings work well to remind people that libraries don’t have to be a thing of the past. We posted a few images below. Click Read More to view.

HENDRIK BEIKIRCH IN KOREA

hendrik beikirch

South Korea’s expanding urban center raises the temp on tensions between the working class and big business. High risk, high interest and even higher skyscrapers dominate. But mural artist Hendrik Beikirch offers a counter punch to make people stop and think about aging workers who are hitting 60 without any hopes of retirement. His black and white mural of a working class man is perched high on the face of one of South Korea’s taller buildings. The juxtaposition is brilliant. We posted a few images below. LONDON'S MVMNT CAFÉ

mvmnt cafe

Echoing a temporary beauty of its own, Movement Café conjures inspiration for its pop-up shop via poetic tweets. As you approach you’ll notice bright words screaming off a plywood aesthetic. It’s a classic pair. The super-bold matched with the understated. They both suggest something temporary and inviting at the same time, which really shows the project’s roots. British designer and creator, Morag Myerschough came up with the idea from a series of tweets posted by the poet Lemn Sissay. Built in just 16 days, the shop quickly became a must see destination that moves from café to performance space effortlessly. We highly recommend checking it out. We’ve posted a few images below.
