This isn’t your typical flower market. Using a bold spectrum of colors and lines mixed with a keen sense of futuristic stylings, the architects at Willy Muller have upped the ante on organics. Located in Barcelona, Mercabarna-Flor is a refreshing interpretation of what a flower market should be. There’s nothing understated here. Approximately 15,000 square-meters are dedicated to flowers, plants and accessories. Click Read More for additional information and photos.

Written by Tom Kirkby: Paper Scissor Stone is a store by illustrator Si Scott and menswear label Electronic Poet. Opening at the tail end of 2008, it perfectly meshes art and fashion, style and grace and is run by people who really know what’s up. Take the manager, Lee, for example. Lee is the original sneaker head, importing rare sneakers to sell at the young age of 15, he’s grown with the scene and nearly encyclopedic in his knowledge of the subject. People like Lee paved the way for high street sneaker stores like ?ize and schuch to get as big as they are.

The shop itself is tucked away in Leeds’ regenerated and understatedly cool ‘Calls’ area, just out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the high street, yet close enough to be in the thick of it. The clothes it carries from labels such as Rittenhouse and Wood Wood, are the kind of understated cool that show you really know your threads. They’re all presented extremely well, which is important. We’re impressed to say the least. Leeds is fast becoming the London of the North, with loads of independent shops springing up. One of our favorite Parisian destinations, colette, is hosting a fantastic exhibit by The Selby. We’ve been addicted to The Selby for quite some time. Todd Selby travels to the homes of interesting people, takes photographs of them in their creative spaces and posts them to his site with a short interview. It’s so simple, but so introspective. He’s photographed the likes of Michael Stipe, Michael Dupouy and Frédéric Beigbeder.

Celebrating his book release, colette is showcasing his work with classic grandeur. Be sure to check it out if you’re in town. The exhibit runs until May 2nd, so you still have time. Click Read More for additional information and to view photos of the exhibit taken by Karl Haab.

Places to Shop: Amsterdam's Running Club by Nike

Maintaining a running habit is difficult. It doesn’t take much to throw off your game. Any number of excuses can shake your commitment. That’s what we like most about Nike’s running campaign. They’ve mustered the power of personal tracking and community to help us stay dedicated to our running habit. Their Plus campaign is ingenious, and Nike takes the concept one step further with their latest retail front – The Running Club. We can’t wait for one of these to hit NYC or Philadelphia.

Launched in Amsterdam, the Running Club is a must visit. Nike partnered with Staat and Shivers to produce a well executed running / fitness store. According to HB, the store features clinics, products, running events and more. The accompanying site is impressive, too. It serves as a localized companion to the Nike Plus Community site. Next time you’re in Amsterdam stop by The Running Club. Click Read More for additional information and photos.
