MUSEUM OF MOVING IMAGE

It’s that time of year when SAG and Oscar buzz make you reflect on your favorite movies and television shows. Although we don’t always agree with the academy (i.e., How did The Town get overlooked for best picture nomination?), we do enjoy the analytical banter about best performances, best screen plays, best score, etc. The process behind moving images is fascinating. So it’s only fitting that we highlight the newly renovated Museum of Moving Image. If you’ve never visited, make plans now.
The Museum of Moving Image boasts an impressive roaster of exhibits all housed in a state of the art building. Their mission: “To advance the public understanding and appreciation of the art, history, technique, and technology of film, television, and digital media. It does so by collecting, preserving, and providing access to moving-image related artifacts, screening significant films and other moving-image works, presenting exhibitions of artifacts, artworks, and interactive experiences, and offering educational and interpretive programs to students, teachers, and the general public.” Next time you’re in New York, be sure to check it out.
