ELEPHANT PARADE

elephant

Written by Elsa Brown: If you find yourself in London this summer, keep an eye out for baby elephants. Two hundred and fifty life-size, painted sculptures of the animal are being installed around the city from May through July for the event Elephant Parade, a conservation campaign for the endangered Asian elephant. The models will be painted by designers, artists and celebrities including Diane von Furstenburg, Alice Temperley and Issac Mizrahi. After some time on display in parks and on street corners, they will be transported en masse to a public outdoor space to be auctioned off to Sotheby’s. The fundraiser will be London’s biggest outdoor art event to date, and aims to raise 2 million pounds to benefit 20 UK charities. Click Read More for additional information.
