JR WINS TED PRIZE

This morning the web was abuzz with exciting news that the thoughtful and talented street artist JR won the 2011 Ted Prize. It’s exciting to see the world traveling artist receive the level of recognition he deserves. Not only is his art impressive – it masterfully captures the beauty of its local residents and brings attention to many forgotten communities worldwide. As the NY Times eloquently states, he’s an “artist who gives slums a human face.” Congrats to JR on his selection and we look forward to seeing what opportunities he’ll create for the underprivileged with this prize.
