SLOWER IS BETTER

When you’re in a rush to get somewhere all rules go out the window – most notably the speed limit. Lately we’ve been thinking about US Speed Limits and how little they’re followed. They’re more like suggestions. If the speed limit is 65 mph, you can bet most traffic is traveling at 75 – 80. It’s as if the signs are saying, “Hey guys – keep it reasonable, until we have to fill our ticket quota. That’s when we’ll get you for going over the limit.”

There’s a hidden dialogue behind the stark numerals of a traffic sign. That’s why we enjoyed these signs designed by Cramer-Krasselt, Milwaukee (via fubiz). Each one shows the speed limit adjacent to a compelling reason why slower is better. Click Read More for additional information and photos.
