We consider ourselves avid collectors. From vinyl records to prints to old school cameras, we love the idea of preserving expression. But all this preservation is eating away at our living space. Sounds like a problem we could resolve by reading, Apartment Therapy. However, if you’re industrialist, Herbert Liaunig, you’d do something completely different – like build a private museum to house your collection of contemporary art.

Last year, Herbert and his friends Austrian President, Heinz Fischer and curator Peter Baum joined forces to complete Museum Liaunig. It’s a beautiful modern structure boasting 3200 square meters of display area with an exhibition hall, viewing depot and various graphic rooms. The museum is also interesting because you can observe a body of art work put together by an enthused collector.
