VIEW FROM ABOVE THE CLOUDS

The comedian Louis CK has a bit where he discusses how we live in the greatest time and how easily we take it all for granted. The technological advances are astounding and they keep advancing at an exponential rate. For instance, he compares travel during the pioneer times to now. In his routine he explains that during the 1800’s a trip to Oregon would take months maybe years, leave families broken, missing people and personally changed. Today it takes just 6 hours to get there from the east coast and we complain about a 30 minute delay. As he exclaims, “You are in a chair in the sky! Amazing!”
Exactly, and with that sentiment we look at these photos and reflect on how lucky we are to bounce around the globe and take in its beauty from above. The flickr team recently posted a new pool of photos taken from airplane windows. We’ve picked a few of our favorites. Click Read More to view additional information and photos.
