ATHEN'S NEW ACROPOLIS MUSEUM

Last week the new Acropolis Museum opened to the public in the historic area of Makryianni, Greece. After decades of planning and significant funding, the historic resource is situated just south of the Parthenon and provides sweeping 360 views of Athens. The NY Times and Adelto have fantastic coverage of the opening.

As reported by Adelto: “The exhibition space, measuring more than 150,000 square feet houses some of the most famous works of classical antiquity. These works are artistic expressions of a deep political change that transformed the ancient city of Athens during the 5th Century BC, subsequently marking entire eras from antiquity to modernity.” Be sure to check out the photo gallery featured in the NY Times. We have a few samples listed below. Click Read More for additional information and photos.
