City Innovations: Bike Around Downtown For Free

One of the best ways to see a city is to ride a bike through it. If you’re in New York City this summer be sure to take advantage of their Bike Around Downtown Program. For the entire summer they’re offering free bike rentals. All you have to do is visit their site and sign up for a time slot. We’d love to see other cities adopt the program. Available time slots:

9:30AM – 12:00PM
12:30PM – 3:00PM
3:30PM – 6:00PM

A credit card is kept on file as a security deposit
Note: you’re not charged at all, unless you don’t return the bike.

Bikes can be rented at Bike and Roll’s kiosk at the South Street Seaport (South Street and Fulton Street) and returned there or at the kiosks on Governors Island, Pier A in Battery Park or at 12th Avenue and 43rd Street.
