The World Wide Fund for Nature is an important organization focused on local and global environmental issues. Established in 1961 they have more than 1300 projects underway across the world. Among their many impressive accomplishments they’ve also created amazing work spaces. Not only are they beautiful structures, they are also sustainable – leading the way for environmentally conscious architecture.
Pictured above is the headquarters for the WWF Netherland Chapter. The former agricultural laboratory has been transformed into an energy-efficient building. It’s completely self-sufficient and CO2 Neutral. For example, “In the moisture-balancing mud ceilings, continuous circulation through little glass tubes takes care of the spreading of human and mechanical warmth, and – even more importantly – of cooling. Through horizontal wooden blinds useful light enters. And all materials are screened for environmental friendliness as well as child labour.
