Local Events: Blue Note Celebrates their 70th Anniversary

We’re fans of all of kinds of music, but jazz has a special place. Whether it’s a musician like Madlib reinterpreting the greats, or the old classics that live in our headphones like Miles, Coltrane or Thelonious – we can’ get enough. So, we’re extra excited to tell you about this Friday’s event at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.

Blue Note Records celebrates their 70th anniversary featuring Bill Charlap, Ravi Coltrane, Peter Bernstein, Lewis Nash, Nicholas Payton, Peter Washington and Steve Wilson. “From the time when hot jazz was the happening thing, through the periods when modern jazz styles evolved ranging from bebop to avant-garde, Blue Note Records stayed true to its anthem—to identify the pulse of jazz.
