Architecture is in an interesting place. In the past, firms have made interesting structures, but these days they feel different. Maybe it’s just us, but it’s like architects know mainstream folks are watching and they want to impress more than ever. They’re center stage.

While many forms exist for architects to show what they can do – our favorite genre is the hotel industry. Firms have to bridge local context, service and artistry into one neat package. We’ve seen great examples – the Ace Hotel, the Maritime Hotel, Hotel Diagonal and many others. In this spirit we’d also like to add Kemang Icon Hotel.
