Planes, Trains & Autos: Highway Sign Design

Clear signage is a necessity. It’s easy to take for granted. We’d bet that most don’t even pay attention to highway signage – probably because most signs do their job well. The communication is clear and it stays out of the way. We recently came across this awesome collection of photos showing how highway signs and other transit communication are created. Check it out.
From their site: “The South Central Sign Shop is located in Union Gap, WA. It is the only WSDOT fabrication shop in the state. The sign shop creates an average of 8,000 square feet of signs per month and recycles about $200,000 per year in aluminum.” Click Read More for additional information and photos.
