Travel Briefing: Where do all the Birds go to Die?

We always wonder where all the birds go to die? In a similar context, where do planes go when they’re put out of commission? The LA Times has a brief article about Victorville – the aircraft boneyard. Currently it’s overflowing as travel declines and larger carriers pull certain planes out of their rotation.

From the LA Times: “With the economy in a tailspin, aircraft “boneyards” across the country are filling up with Boeing 747s and other jetliners no longer needed to ferry passengers. Call it airline limbo. Air carriers are grounding planes at a rate not seen since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, and industry experts say this year is likely to set a record for planes sitting on the ground.” Click Read More for additional information and photos.
