Places to Eat: A Comfortable Retreat for the Creative

Written by Tom Kirkby: Every city has its creative hub. A place where every artist, musician and all manner of creative types flock to share ideas, catch up on news and generally be in good company. Some cities have whole districts like this, such as New York’s Village. However, York, being the small place it is, has but one or two cafes and bars which could fit under this category. Dusk is one such place, York’s coolest bar, and hub of the creative scene.

By day, it’s simply a cafe serving great, if not slightly stock, food at good prices. By night, it becomes a hustle & bustle of friendly atmosphere and activity, which is mirrored by the two bars either side of it. The party often spills out into the street, with the crowds from the other bars becoming one friendly mass. You can’t help but be swept along by it. Use it as a starting point for your night, as the many posters on the walls advertise the best in York’s creative and D.I.Y club and party scene. Or simply as quiet place to grab some great food in the day time. Click Read More for additional photos and information.
