LONDON'S OXFORD CIRCUS CROSSING OPENS
PLACES: Following in the footsteps of Shibuya Crossing, London’s Oxford Circus Crossing opened earlier this month. Noted as Europe’s busiest diagonal crossing, London adopted the intersection protocol which stops all auto-traffic and allows pedestrians to cross in any direction for short intervals. As the BBC reports: “The £5m Junction is able to handle double the number of pedestrians and ease overcrowding at the busy intersection.” View video of the “X-Crossing” here.
