Local Culture: Photography of London Shop Fronts

With high-end boutiques opening and closing everyday there’s something magical about corner stores that stand the test of time. You’ve seen them. And you’ve probably thought: How do they make rent? There’s no one in there! Do people still buy 3 piece suits for 40 bucks with a matching hat? We don’t know. Our guess is that they either own the building that all the other newcomers rent out, or the local community quietly supports their services and has done so since day one.

Recently we found an awesome website that photographs London’s resilient, unapologetic and recession proof store fronts. Entitled London Shop Fronts, they’ve done an excellent job archiving the magical elements of retail. Click Read More for additional information and a sample of photos.
