Places to Stay: Stay on a Plane with Jumbo Hostel

Every time a plane lands we’re amused at the rate cell phones come on and people jump up to wait in the aisles. We’re not body linguists, but all the shifting definitely suggests, Get me off this plane now. And for that reason the idea of an airplane hostel seems a bit strange. The concept of arriving in a city and using another plane as your over-night accommodation may send some running, but with further investigation it’s a really cool idea.
Late last month, Jumbo Hostel’s renovated Boeing 747-200 was towed to its permanent parking place at the Stockholm-Arlanda Airport entrance in preparation for December Bookings. Approximately 17-18 million travelers pass through the airport each year, and the Jumbo Hostel will provide a great place to stay for low cost. The part hostel, part museum Boeing will make for an interesting stay. So next time your visiting Stockholm, be sure to check it out. We’ve listed a few early photos below.
