Travel Solutions: Put Your Bike in a Tree for Security

Yesterday we took a moment to enjoy the sun and watch the Commerce Bank Bike Race in center city Philadelphia. The city is beautiful this time of year. We enjoyed watching the bikes zoom past like schools of fish. For a moment, with all the streets closed, we got a sense of what a car-free city would be like. We were re-inspired to hop on our bikes – despite the 90+ degree weather – and just cruise around.
As we’ve mentioned before, short of walking around a city, the next best thing is biking. The spontaneity of jumping on your bike and going wherever whenever is liberating. The only thing that gets in the way of the liberation movement is finding a place to lock-up your beloved iron horse when you’ve found that coffee shop or book store you’d like to visit. Spotted via Abhinav Dapke – a nice solution may be waiting in the future. While it’s only a concept, the Bike Parking Tree gives us hope for traveling without a bike lock.
