Travel Innovations: The M-112 Urban Concept Car

Late last month, Shell held their 2008 Eco Marathon in France. The Eco Marathon is an educational car competition that serves as a platform to encourage innovation, reinforce conservation and foster the development of leading technology for greater energy efficiency. The event challenges students from all over to design and build a vehicle that uses the least amount of fuel to travel the farthest distance.

Considering the accelerated climb of gas prices, this competition is well needed. One of our favorite entrants in the competition was designed by Ignacio Garcia for EcoCustom (pictured above). The M-112 Urban Concept Car would be ideal in a city setting. With the increasing presence of micro-cars, it’d be great to see local governments reward owners – whether via separate lanes or preferred city parking.
