Places to Shop: Dior Homme Butterfly Installation

Late last week the Dior Homme Store played host to the opening of a beautiful art installation created by Italian artist Andrea Mastrovito. Silohuettes of black butterflies adorn the store walls and ceiling as an ode to Dior’s Fall/Winter 08 line that featured butterflies on nearly every piece of clothing. We highly recommend visiting if you’re in Paris this month.
As Wallpaper* Magazine reports: “The project was commissioned by Dior Homme artistic director Kris Van Assche, inspired by his whimsical Fall/Winter ‘08 collection, which featured butterflies on everything from blazers to t-shirts, and even butterfly-shaped bow ties. Nine thousand black decoupage replicas serpentine across the ceiling and walls of the white boutique, like Hitchcock’s birds only less menacing, and much prettier. They’ll be around for a month before flying away in the new year.” Click Read More for additional information and photos.
