City Innovations: Japan's Decorated Trains

We love art. We love trains. So we couldn’t resist this one. PT posted an article highlighting the imaginatively styled trains of Japan. As they note, “Of the countless trains running on Japan’s (12,000+ mile) rail network, a few are decorated with images of anime and manga characters, colorful ads and designs by notable artists.” We love the eccentric expression and all-in bravado of the works. Granted some of these trains are decorated for commercial purposes, but at least they suggest that someone’s having fun.
