There’s an endless array of attractions that only time could have forged. It’s a very historical place, founded before the Roman invasion, and houses the mother church of the Anglican community. This church is now a world heritage site and one of the most visited landmarks in the whole country. But what does Canterbury offer the modern traveler…
I can tell you, it’s an escape from the madness and rush, to a place more relaxed that affords you enough time to appreciate its glorious history. With a strong cafe culture, it’s the perfect place to escape the din of city life. In many ways, Canterbury parallels York. Both cities are spiritual bases for the Anglican church, both cities have the same vibe and aesthetic, and they also have the same D.I.Y attitude within the youth ranks. Overall, Canterbury is a small quaint place, that perfectly encapsulates the idealistic view of Britain. It’s a quiet escape that’ll urge you to turn off your Blackberry. Well, Almost….
