Travel Innovations: Volvo's Hybrid Bus Tackles Smog

It’s no fun being stuck behind a bus – the emissions, the smell, the black smog. How many times have you practically choked as one pulled off from a bus stop? That’s why we’re looking forward to Volvo’s 7700 Hybrid bus. While there are several eco-friendly buses on the market, this one significantly reduces emissions and fuel consumption.

The 7700 is the first commercially available bus promising to reduce fuel consumption by 30%. And, it promises to reduce the discharge of particles and nitrous oxides by 40-50% when compared to diesel buses. Mass production won’t begin until 2010, but you may see a few pop up in European cities early next year. Click Read More for additional information and photos.
