wejetset film review: In Search of Love in LA

Los Angeles is a city fueled by dreams. There’s a constant flow of young aspirants, who come to the city with high hopes. Like a confident, beautiful women with plenty of options, Los Angeles breaks the hearts of nearly everyone one who seeks her out.
In Search of a Midnight Kiss a romantic comedy about a lovable misanthrope named Wilson. He’s at that crucial twenty-nine going on thirty threshold of his life and he has just had the worst year of his life. The unsold screenplay that brought him to Los Angeles was stolen. The girl he left behind in Austin has moved on. Wilson is flat broke with no plan and wants nothing more than to wallow in his inertia on New Year’s Eve. His childhood friend and roommate Jacob thinks a night out is all Wilson needs to get over his depression and he forces him to post a personal ad on Craig’s List. A woman responds to the ad and the duo spend an afternoon and evening together walking the streets of Los Angeles and talking – developing the kind of connection that can only happen when you know you’ll probably never see the other person again. In Search of a Midnight Kiss captures the spirit of the City of Angels – the alienation, the elation, the heartbreak and the confusion that makes Los Angeles a city like no other.
