Places to See: Dive Into Another Part of Tokyo

Ping Magazine published a great piece on the historic town of Hongo, Tokyo. The article walks you through the less-obvious sites that could be missed when visiting the electric city. Be sure to check it out. We’ve listed a brief segment below.

As reported by Ping: “When people hear Hongo, Bunkyo Ward, they always think of prestigious Tokyo University. But when you go for a casual stroll around around Hongo campus, you realize that it’s more of a charming neighborhood with many old buildings, similar to the traditional Sumida district. Hongo is quite famous for its rich cultural heritage, with many houses that were constructed between the 1890s and the 1930s. So instead of diving into the hipster crowds in Harajuku, for today PingMag explores a very different part of Tokyo.”
