Travel Inspiration: Shintaro Sato's Tokyo Twilight Zone
October 10, 2008 | 12:00PM

If you’re looking for travel inspiration, check out these photos from acclaimed photographer, Shintaro Sato. He recently published a book entitled, Tokyo Twilight Zone, capturing beautiful shots of Tokyo cityscapes. Each picture was captured from an emergency stair case at dusk. When Sato was asked, “Why Cityscapes?” He replied, “I am fascinated by the powerful unconsciousness of a city when looking down from a higher point. Cities are often constructed out of necessity, not necessarily for the purpose of beauty, but I find it does translate into beautiful shapes and demonstrates a rhythm that we are not aware of when on the ground. Twilight brings out a mixture of artificial light and natural light which emphasizes the beauty of the city.” Click Read More for additional information and photos.
